FATIGUE SYNDROME

Fatigue can be defined as a person feeling sluggish and inadequate while doing their daily work. Busy and pressured work pace, competitive, stressful life negatively affects health. It is normal to get tired when a physical activity is performed above the exertion capacity in daily life and it passes with rest. However, rested and normal daily activities, although the person feels tired, and less than 1 month, if there is acute fatigue syndrome, fatigue syndrome, subacute between 1-6 months, ongoing for more than 6 months is defined as chronic fatigue syndrome. WHAT CAUSES CHRONIC FATIGUE SYNDROME?

 


Chronic fatigue can be many causes of anemia, infections, liver, heart and kidney failure, vitamin and mineral deficiencies, metabolic disorders (hypoglycemia), hormonal problems (hypothyroidism, diabetes, adrenal insufficiency, sometimes serious health problems such as cancer, fatigue is the first sign. Fatigue and weakness caused by the disease disappear when the disease is treated. Fatigue can also occur as a result of repetitive and prolonged stress, sleep problems, depression and some other psychological problems.

 


Anemia (Anemia): It is one of the most common causes of fatigue. The blood carries oxygen, which provides nutrition to the tissues. In anemia, tissues work with less oxygen and therefore the organs get tired more quickly. The most common cause is Iron deficiency and vitamin B12 deficiency. After the anemia is eliminated with the treatment, fatigue also disappears.

Infectious diseases: Viruses, bacteria, etc. that cause infections can cause fatigue from toxic substances secreted by factors, fever and nutritional disorders.

In kidney failure: Urea and electrolyte imbalance; causes malaise due to reasons such as treatment-resistant anemia.

Liver: It is the “chemistry laboratory” in our body. Jaundice and itching are also seen many times along with weakness in their diseases. Early treatment of these diseases is very important.

In oncological patients: weakness, loss of appetite, along with fatigue in tumors with a good and bad course, can lead to rapid weight loss.

Sleep disorders: The quality of life deteriorates if adequate time and quality sleep are not provided. Sleep apnea is also an important cause of fatigue.

Depression and stress: Fatigue: depression can also occur as a result of some psychological problems, such as insomnia accompanied by some psychological problems, repetitive and prolonged stress. Chronic fatigue syndrome can also be accompanied by weakness and fatigue, as well as head, throat, November, muscle and joint pains, hair loss, nail breakage, loss of appetite, weight loss, distraction.
